Hello everyone. A very happy new year to all!
Certainly I am a bit late to wish it. But, my motive is to see how you have spent the past month(s) of the year. Because, if you have been organized then you’ll only need to do this to better yourself. If not, there’s always a tomorrow. And that tomorrow can happen faster if you look at this blog, the help I want to provide here, in this blog post.
Since many of us start very enthusiastically, plan so hard or not at all nearing the new years, I wanted to slow down and post this after a month(s) or so, when everyone seems to lose their interest in the plans or forget why they did start in the first place.
To begin with, it is very strategic and important to have a vision and why you want to stay organized. The reason may however be small but will definitely bring huge amount of progress and better behaviour as well as better relations with people around you. It de-clutters your mind and brings a logical and sorted view point.
Secondly, we need to know and understand the value of letting go of things which are not of use to us or that we do not provide to our betterment in our daily routine. It is not just about the cleanliness around you but also a persistent better behaviour day by day, step by step.
You can use many apps or offline journals to keep a track of your behaviour/progress/habits and much more. It is not a surprise that there are apps for tracking your study, run, walk, and stool movement trackers. For females specifically there are apps to track their menstrual cycle.
If you feel this is very basic and want to advance, go ahead and engage in something new. There are no lesser apps for brain activities. I like languages and here I suggest to use ‘Duolingo’ app. It is an app that lets you learn any language as per your choice, gives you levels to complete daily based on the time you choose to spend on it per day, be it 5 minutes or more.
DISCLAIMER :
1. THERE IS NEVER A PERFECT DAY TO START.
2. IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO PRESSURE YOURSELF WITH DOING THE PLANNED THINGS IN THE PLANNED WAY, EVERY SINGLE DAY. THERE WILL BE DAYS THAT ARE UNPREDICTABLE. THERE WILL BE DAYS THAT ARE SEEMINGLY IMPOSSIBLE TO COMPLETE THE TASKS.
How and where to start?
Start any time, any day, however you wish to. It is your life and it is your choice to make it your way. Do not get blinded with the influencers on the social media portraying the most unexpected perfect timelines of their daily life.
The most important thing as I mention again is the VISION.
Keep a vision of how you want to end up after you are reaching a certain goal.
Start with the basics.
ROUTINE : Make your bed. After you wake up, make your bed. That way you will not want to crawl back in and make it messy. A cleaner bed gives space to more good and productive thoughts as you see a fresh canvas of a bed when it is cleared.
The best decision you will ever make is doing exercise when you wake up. No matter if you wake up at 2 pm (14:00 ) or at 5:00 am.
When you start to exercise, not only will your mind be active, your body active and blood pumping, you will also feel that after such a workout the day ahead will be a happier and difficulties will be easy to handle. You will gain a more positive outlook on life. Just after a few days of doing so, you will realize the value of waking up early and it gives you time to do more than just exercise.
GO TO WORK : If you work from home it is good, if you don’t go to the workplace and work. DO NOT DELAY anything that you have to work on. Delaying only makes it harder to finish. The sooner you start, the sooner you end and thus, you get a free time for yourself as well.
TAKE BREAKS : You know all work and no play makes a man dull. Why not really apply this in your daily routine? Okay, so see it this way, you’re at your work and your mind is nothing but numb or stressed because of the work pressure and that you have been working non stop. Take a little walk to the bathroom, the coffee machine, the canteen or even eat something. Eating will make you feel more energized. In my personal opinion, I drink water or coffee or juices or energy drinks. It not only keeps me hydrated, it also keeps sleep at bay and my senses aware.
TO-DO LIST(S) / PLANNERS : They little notebooks of what to do next or when, are life savers. Telling with a personal experience, they can change your world. You will be more organized than ever. You don’t have to look all over to check where lies what and what is up next. Just open that book, go to the date and BAM! You find your work in seconds. Saves time and energy. Also, works a great reminder. USE THEM IN YOUR PHONE THROUGH APPS IF YOU DON’T WANT TO WRITE EVERYTHING DOWN.
Once you get the hang of it, you will never back down yourself. It also helps to stay motivated and inspired by oneself on how much work are you getting done.
DECLUTTER OR RE-ARRANGE : Decluttering or re-arranging things will help in only making things feel new and you will not feel bored with the aura of the workplace or even your home.
DO NOT CLING TO OLD STUFF : Clinging means keeping things unnecessarily that just acquire more space and also keep our minds occupied with them not letting us have space to introduce ourselves to new things and new habits. Move on by letting go.
KEEP THINGS IN PLACES : Keep things in their places and do not procrastinate to not keep them where they belong otherwise you would be making more mess in than staying organized. You would waste time to find the stuff the next time you need it.
DON’T LET YOURSELF BE DISTRACTED : The point here is to do the thing at hand and without being distracted to finish things off your shoulders and manage to make time for yourself and your relaxation.
ALWAYS HAVE SOME “ME” TIME : Make your own self a priority. Do things you love, do things that relax you to stay away from the hustle and bustle of life for a few hours. Unwind, feel free and more ready for the upcoming life events, be it good or bad. You will feel the SELF LOVE. That will make you feel more confident and you will embrace it and make the most out of the least. NEVER GIVE UP.
